Recently I’ve been attending an outdoor exercise bootcamp from 6-7am in a public park in Portland, 3 days a week. We put our yoga mats on the covered or uncovered basketball courts, depending on the rain. Right now in November, we’re getting lots of covered court exercise. The calisthenics, weight lifting, stretching and push-ups usually happen after we go for a jog/power walk around many blocks, or straight up Fremont from 8th to 33rd. I don’t hate getting up at 5;20am as much as I hate having to think about going to bed earlier because I have to rise early! At 7am I feel really virtuous for having done it and relieved.

The best part is being outdoors getting to see the dawn…

And fortunately, we are not meeting for the next 3 months! Now I’ll have to figure out some other way to beat back the holiday pounds.
